Alexandria Haynes

Introducing Alexandria

Alexandria (she/her) lives in Chicago and will be creating and managing the social media accounts for Serengeti Wellness.

What Brings Me Joy?

What brings me joy in life is DIY projects, traveling, hanging out with friends and my family, and of course… dogs!

My Journey with Psychology

My journey within psychology and mental health care professionally thus far has led me to a minor in psychology. My personal journey with mental health has made me want to dive deeper into mental health research and counseling. My hopes and dreams for the future of my career would be to have helped people through their darker days because I know that journey personally, and I was so fortunate to have compassionate people by my side helping me.

A Mantra I Live By

A current mantra I like to live by is, “If not today, maybe tomorrow”. It helps me remember that you never know what the next day will bring and to just keep going, and keep trying. It reminds me that whatever I’m going through is not finite.

Nicole Woodson

Introducing Nicole

I was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Growing up with my grandmother, I naturally embraced her enthusiasm for service and from there my passion blossomed. Sharing my knowledge and experiences to help inspire and uplift others fulfills me. Intrigued with teaching, I attended Clemson University for undergrad and Converse College for graduate studies and began my career in education. After working in South Carolina for several years, I relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina to embark on a new path.

I am a part of the Serengeti team as the Clinic Operations Assistant where I work closely with the founder and systemize the practice ensuring all the administrative operations run effectively, while helping our clients with any billing, insurance, or scheduling related questions they may have.

What Brings Me Joy in Life?

I vibrate highest when freedom and balance are flowing. Having the freedom to choose my path and deciding how to spend my time is key. Balancing work with family bonding time, travel, and exercise whether it is hitting the gym, hiking, or playing pickleball, bring me so much joy.

My Journey with Psychology

I believe therapy disciplines the mind in the same way exercise does our bodies, and that mental health is just as important as physical health. Each of us has life experiences that impact us differently and need help navigating those challenges at some point. Therapy brings forth healing as we work to sharpen our ability to process our feelings through acceptance and learning from those experiences. I believe as long as you are learning, you are living!

As the Administrative Assistant at Serengeti, I strive to facilitate healing and growth in our clients by bringing light and positive energy to my work and the people I serve daily.

A Mantra I Live By

“A way of seeing is also a way of not seeing” is a mantra I adopted in college. It reminds me to recognize I always have a choice, to release my expectations of others, to be open to change, and to keep going. This helps me put life into perspective and focus on what matters most.

Therapy is one of the best forms of self-care. It is time to choose yourself.
