A Note From Sabina
“Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, especially for children, teens, and families of color who rarely see themselves reflected in the room. And when they do come in, they’re often weighed down by things that lack easy words: a child’s anxiety hidden by perfectionism, a teen’s grief that manifests as anger, an adult’s quiet exhaustion from trying to meet everyone else’s expectations. Parents often tell me they feel like they’re failing, unsure how to help their child find balance again. Some are navigating cultural identity, neurodivergence, or systemic pressures that make life feel like an uphill climb, or make getting out of bed impossible. What they want isn’t just relief from symptoms; they’re seeking understanding, stability, and a way back to themselves and what feels authentic.
Together, we slow things down and make space to feel through words, play, art, or quiet reflection. Healing begins when a child feels seen for who they are, when a teen realizes they don’t have to carry everything alone, and when a parent learns that showing up, even imperfectly, is enough. Representation matters. And I want my clients to know they’re seen, valued, and found here. Through a relational, psychodynamic approach, my work is grounded in connection, safety, and curiosity. I draw from evidence-based tools like CBT, DBT, and mindfulness, alongside a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and decolonized lens. Together, we make sense of what’s beneath the surface and build a path toward confidence, calm, and self-trust.
Over time, clients begin to move through life with more ease and self-understanding. Children rediscover their playfulness and confidence, teens learn to trust their voice, and parents find steadier ways to connect and support. Together, we turn survival strategies into self-awareness and self-compassion — helping each person feel more grounded, capable, and authentically themselves. My goal is to help every client, especially those who’ve felt invisible in other spaces, know that they belong and can live a life filled with dignity, joy, and security.”
Experience
Sabina is a therapist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University and clinical training through Sinai Health’s Under the Rainbow program. She works with children, teens, and families dealing with anxiety, grief, trauma, identity development, and systemic stress. Her holistic approach combines play therapy, narrative and expressive arts, and evidence-based interventions to foster emotional regulation and resilience.
Before becoming a therapist, Sabina spent more than 15 years as a journalist and creative director for organizations including Google, PayPal, and Squaremouth. She also holds advanced degrees in Communication, Journalism, and Digital Marketing.
Her background in storytelling and media trained her to listen deeply, ask meaningful questions, and translate complex emotions and ideas into understanding, skills that now shape her therapeutic work. Sabina’s creative lens allows her to see patterns, possibilities, and resilience in each client’s story. Get to Know Sabina
“Nature does not rush, yet everything is accomplished.” — Lao Tzu.
I find ease in quiet rituals, I love reading fiction and memoirs, live for coffee at sunrise or a long walk near water, and unhurried time with the friends, family, and pets (particularly horses, and our five cats and dogs!)
I’ve lived a few creative lives: journalist, storyteller, and now therapist. No matter the role, I’m most at home in the stories people share and knowing we are working together for something better.
